UI Design. Just Like Grandma Recipe App Case Study

The goals of this brief was to create the identity branding as well as design a high-fidelity prototype for an recipe baking app called “Just Like Grandma”, specialising in recipes that address various dietary requirements for people with food allergies or food intolerances. Usability was an important factor in the creation of this app as well as the function to be able to filter out certain recipes to suit individual dietary requirements.

The branding approach was to use a script font for the logo to give the idea that Grandma had handwritten the recipe. This was complimented with a serif font and a heart motif to give a classic yet homely look. Adobe XD was used to create the high-fidelity prototype. The visual design was based on the black and white of the logo as well as ensure that when new recipes are uploaded to the app, the visual imagery doesn’t clash with the app, allowing the design to be more versatile.

Overall the ease of usability within the design was achieved with easy flow between each page of the app with a clean yet classic design being used throughout.
